What's the nicest compliment you've received recently?
Last week, after I got that little lost dog out of traffic and into the safe hands of our very kind and gentle animal control guy, Iain came home that night and said how nice a thing it was. As is my usual habit, I brushed it off, because I am a super awkward dildobrain about accepting compliments, but also because I didn't think it was all that nice—that's just a sort of thing I imagine anyone would do, even though I simultaneously recognize our house full of rescues suggests otherwise.
"No, it was really decent," Iain said. "Reading about it made me feel happy to be married to you."
That's a nice compliment to get.
