Question of the Day

In the comments of last Tuesday's QotD, Shaker gunesvar wrote: "I think you may have done this before, Liss, but what would you think of a post dedicated to readers' favorite bloggers and/or memorable posts? 'The Terrible Bargain,' as I mentioned, is a regular re-view for me."

So, in honor of gunesvar's request — and because, to be frank, I could use the boost, and I'm sure other authors of your favorite pieces will enjoy their work being remembered, too — today's QotD is: What are some of your favorite blog pieces of all time?

As for my favorites, there are so many! Just sticking to Shakesville alone: Aphra's Looking for Bernie series; Deeky's Overton Window series; Eastsidekate's MittMail post; BrianWS's A Scene from the Life of a Feminist Fella post; Ana's Ross Geller post; Spudsy's Nature Calls post; Elle's The Help post; an Anonymous Shaker's Breaking the Silence: On Living Pro-Lifers' Choice for Women post; Maud's Hello Out There post; Phil Barron's Black, White, and Asparagus post; SKM's Mansplainer post; Mustang Bobby's From the Mailbox post... The list goes on and on! There have been so many amazing contributors and guest writers here over the years.

I also want to remember Phone a Friend, not because of what I wrote, but because the comments in that post will forever encapsulate for me what I love best about this community. I re-read that thread pretty regularly when I need a good laugh!

Shakesville is run as a safe space. First-time commenters: Please read Shakesville's Commenting Policy and Feminism 101 Section before commenting. We also do lots of in-thread moderation, so we ask that everyone read the entirety of any thread before commenting, to ensure compliance with any in-thread moderation. Thank you.
