Question of the Day

Suggested by Shaker Nitro_mom: "When has a work of entertainment turned out to be very different than what you'd expected based on trailers, reviews, word of mouth, or even your own experience at the beginning of the work compared to later on?"

This is certainly not the biggest difference between expectations and actual experience, but it's a very recent one and the first one that came to mind: Life of the Party.

It's a Melissa McCarthy comedy, so I expected to like it, but I didn't expect how much I would like it, which is a lot! It's overtly feminist and very moving, and I was just very surprised by how enjoyable it was.

And once I saw it, I understood the bad reviews, lol. Fates forfend there exist a comedic film that's not about treating women like garbage!
