Donald Trump Is Scared of Elizabeth Warren

In today's Primarily Speaking thread, I noted that acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney's unceremoniously firing all 25 members of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's advisory board was "a big fuck-you to Senator Elizabeth Warren right as her campaign is getting traction, as the CFPB is her baby."

I also noted that the political press is propping up Joe Biden, and Eastsidekate observed in comments: "It's really interesting that as soon as 'Warren has a plan for that' has become a meme, the media suddenly starts trumpeting Joe Biden's non-existent policy chops."

Time and again, the political press has done Trump's bidding, so their simultaneous elevation of Biden to obscure Warren's surge is further evidence that Trump doesn't want to face Warren. He clearly sees her as the stronger candidate.

And here comes Trump this afternoon, to prove my point:

Trump, talking to reporters: I'd rather run against, I think, Biden than anybody. I think he's the weakest mentally. [points to head] And I like running against people that are weak mentally. I think Joe [points to head] is the weakest up here.
Donald Trump is going to keep baiting Biden, and Biden is going to keep taking the bait, so that both of them stay on the front page (as it were).

And it's because he doesn't want to run against Elizabeth Warren. She's got a plan for him.
