I'm pretty sure the trial has been goddamned personal to a lot of people, like Trayvon Martin's parents, all the fuck along.
And from the accompanying article: "For the prosecution, [Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon Martin's mother] was the figure of sympathy." For the prosecution. For the defense, she is just an inconvenience to their wretched campaign to dehumanize Trayvon Martin into a personified threat against aggrieved heroes like George Zimmerman.

Yes, I understand defense teams have a job to do. No, it does not make me any less contemptuous of the particular strategy of this defense team on behalf of their loathsome client.
