Tom Green County [Texas] commissioners have moved one step closer to building a 620-bed faith-based prison with the creation of the Concho Valley Community Facilities Corp.That’s right. A faith-based prison. Technically, prisoners of every faith are allowed to sign their oath of faith to get transferred to this newfangled corrections facility, but it will be guided by Christian principles. And they promise, cross their hearts and hope to die, not to evangelize.
I can only imagine the marketing campaign that will be rolled out to advertise this opportunity to prisoners incarcerated at other prisons: Join a chain gang for Jesus! Yeesh.
