Above: Misa and her cat Fukumaru, who have been companions since Misa found Fukumaru as a kitten, abandoned in a shed, thirteen years ago. Their story has been documented by Misa's granddaughter, photographer Miyoko Ihara, and compiled for publication in a book called Misao the Big Mama and Fukumaru the Cat.
