Read These Now Because Everyone Smells

Ohhhh Kittens, 'tis a sad day. Petulantland no longer (sorta) has twinkling lights and nutcrackers dueling skeletons. I finally dismantled Christmas in my world. It took me forever to gather the courage and strength, but I performed such a daunting task. (Imagine the next few sentences, or hell all of them, spoken aloud in a Southern accent, teeth tightly gritted together like I had too many plastic surgeries and a cigarette dangling from a limp wrist, an affectation of course; the limp wrist, not the cigarette.) HOWEVER, I decided to keep one of the four foot urn trees. In particular, the one covered with the specialty lotus and gold poinsettia lights. I stripped it bare except for the lights and I will place it by my bar. I think it will make a lovely nightlight if I wake from one of those horrible dreams where a green king cobra, who only speaks French, bites my face. I might need a little nip to help me back into slumber. Snakes frighten the fuck out me and even worse when I don't understand what it is babbling to me before it takes a big chunk out of my face. I did recognize the chorus from Je t´aime Melancolie. HA! Besides that tree, all I have left is a pile of glitter and drool. On a lighter note, I did find my favorite black wool hat that was lost for months. It was under the tree skirt for the red tinsel tree. I blame the cats of course.

SHOCKING! Beach vacations may increase future risk of skin cancer in children. OK! I am a huge fan of sunscreen mainly because I have very fair skin and if I am in the sun for just a little while I start to redden. If you have kids slather them. I always stay out of the sun, especially during the heavy gardening period in the spring and summer between the hours of 10am-2pm. The article recommends until 4pm. I also wear long sleeves, as the article advises. I freckle too easily and I don't want them. Your kids will thank you when they evolve and stop hating you.

AND HEY! Gardening gives older adults benefits like hand strength and self-esteem. As an aging homosexual that is comforting. Hopefully I am ahead of the curve.

Christian Bale's ripping a new one to the DP on Terminator:Salvation was because the scene "was a very emotional and tough scene between Christian Bale and Bryce Howard. A scene that required soul bearing and a deep level of immersive concentration." That was my first thought about the Terminator movies, especially no. 4. People get so overwhelmed by the endless action, those scenes of depth and emotional intensity are completely lost. As I wrote in an email to Liss: "Yeah yeah yeah... an emotional, soul bearing scene on Terminator 4? Gee... where's my hanky when I watch the DVD?"

In conclusion, my favorite Florence King quote of all time: "No matter what sex I went to bed with, I never smoked on the street." Unless some evil law made me. HA!
