Progressivism? Two headed monster? Or split personality? Or two different things completely? "Rational progressives sometimes regard radical progressives as impractical, self-righteous, shrill, demagogic, naïve and/or anti-intellectual. Radical progressives, in turn, regard rational progressives as impure, corrupt (or corruptible), selfish, complacent, elitist, and too quick to compromise."
The Heretik shrinks more shrill and naive every day. Politics remains the game of selling the passion to get elected, then selling out to "reason." Whatever we do, let's be "serious" and "reasonable." Is Obama going slow? Or going nowhere? Has he got his hands on the steering wheel? Or are the wheels coming off?
