This may work in middle school, but please spare me on a university level. "Cambridge University students have been asked to compare the lyrics of the pop star Amy Winehouse with the poetry of Sir Walter Raleigh in a final year exam paper." If someone needs to understand Sir Walter via Amy Winehouse, you are an idiot. One student said, "It was really bizarre. I sat there looking at the paper in shock. I wouldn't consider a controversial pop singer a literary figure." Praise Queen Elizabeth unnamed student! Let me strangle myself with a neck ruff.

Subpoenas for Imelda Marcos. Yep, she's still kicking. If you have never seen this documentary about Imelda, you must. Giant chocolate bars, delusion, and endless scribbling of pseudo-religious symbols like pac-man will make you a better person. HA!
Speaking of movies, my favorite company on the planet, Criterion, is releasing a remastered, double-disc set of Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters. Criterion is also releasing Yukio Mishima's short film Patriotism. Also watch Mishima's not so good acting, but he is shirtless, in Afraid to Die released by Fantoma.
This gay boy, art film freak is also excited about the Derek Jarman Glitterbox.

When Robots Live Among Us. I am getting tired of this decades-old promise for robots. Scientist have been saying "soon" FOREVER. GIVE ME A ROBOT!I am having a hard time feeling the world today, let alone reading about it. Mainly because I average MAX four hours of sleep a night. It is getting ridiculous. Dolls don't work. Booze and dolls don't work. A quiet dark room remains a quiet dark room with me awake in it. I can fall asleep with the help of chemicals, but do not stay asleep. Even a hard day of manual labor working outside will make me tired, but not tired enough to stay asleep. I literally have to stay awake for two days to get a full night's sleep. Complete, utter, borderline hallucinating exhaustion is the only way I get eight hours. I even gave up drinking caffeine after 6pm. It isn't stress. It is troublesome that dolls don't work. Bear with me kittens, I am just typing mindlessly. Some old school THORAZINE would be delightful, but I am not crazy enough. I can't head to the doc and ask for a Demerol drip. I haven't tried 420 or as a friend nicknames it "tomatoes," but in the past that just makes me want to eat donuts and watch Kids in the Hall. I haven't tried anything Eastern yet. Even then I bet the good stuff is in some remote village in Tibet and I doubt they would let me visit. So, anyone else not sleeping? Or, if you do sleep, how do you do it?
