The first full day of the 2008 Democratic National Convention will be August 26 (the Convention kicks off the night of the 25th).

August 26 is Women's Equality Day, which was established in 1971, as a result of the efforts of Rep. Bella Abzug, to commemorate the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment.

I will leave it to your imaginations as to why I find this to be bitterly ironic.
