I just want to take a quick moment to welcome a new contributor and say goodbye to two "old" ones…
First, please say hello to the illustrious Zuzu. Zuzu, of Kindly Póg Mó Thóin, and formerly of Feministe, has joined us as a contributor. If you're not familiar with Zuzu's work, well, it's awesome. She's smart, she's fierce, and she can go ten rounds with ya and still get your back in the next breath. Which pretty much makes her exactly my kind of grrl. I'm thrilled that she's joined us.
Secondly, I am sorry to say that Deborah Newell Tornello, aka Litbrit, and Phil Barraon, aka Waveflux, have decided not to be contributors to Shakesville anymore. Litbrit can still be found blogging at her place and at her own group project Cogitamus, with some other terrific bloggers.
Phil was one of Shakesville's earliest contributors, and I'm sure no one will be surprised to hear that I am very sad to see him go and hugely grateful for all the amazing contributions he's made. His Black. White. And asparagus. remains one of my favorite all-time posts at Shakesville. You'll still be able to find him over at his place (and in comments, of course, as he reminds me by email, lol), and he may still pop in on the main page now and again to give us updates on the La Vena Johnson case, which he has followed so diligently.
Thanks to Phil and Litbrit for all their valuable contributions to Shakesville—and welcome, Zuzu!
