Some people think [the Republican presidential race] has come down to McCain, Romney, and — just because Giuliani hasn’t been beaten yet — Giuliani.Which is amazing, and not, in fact, true. At least not if you concern yourself with facts, like the fact that Giuliani has finished behind pond scum in every GOP primary or caucus so far. Worse, he's trailing Ron Paul. Most people would not view this as "not beaten."
But in the world of punditry, logic has no meaning. Rudy says he hasn't competed in a race, and how can you beat him if he doesn't compete? It's iron-clad logic! Which is why I'm announcing my candidacy for the presidency. I shall compete in no primaries or general elections whatsoever, and after all candidates -- Clinton, Obama, Bloomberg, McCain, Romney, Nader, Edwards, Paul, Gingrich, Reagan, whomever -- fail to defeat me, I will be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States. It's foolproof...unless Giuliani pulls out of Florida.
